What an exciting and joyful time you are beginning! You are now beginning to plan a wedding, prepare for marriage, and manage relationships and communication. It can be an overwhelming time, though filled with love and laughter. On June 25, 2017, I began that same process and I am so excited to partner with you as you begin your journey towards the aisle and marriage!

Welcome & Congratulations!!

I'm Jessica, a certified event & wedding planner based in Central Pennsylvania who thrives on organization and small details. I'm also a wife, mom & entrepreneur who is in love with hiking, HGTV, baking, DIY weddings and rustic barns!

As a southern girl, I’ve always loved large gathering and organizing ways for friends & family to come together. In 2017, after going through training & certification, I started Simply Joyful Occasions out of a heart for serving others, bringing sweet dreams into joyful memories, and sharing my love for southern hospitality.

A couple's unique story is the inspiration behind every wedding! My favorite elements of events & weddings are the personal touches, from hand-written vows to sentimental details remembering loved ones. I believe that your planning experience should be as joy-filled as your wedding day, and it is my desire to gain your trust in working together with you to create the wedding of your dreams! I consider it a sincere privilege to be trusted to plan and coordinate your event, and is an undertaking I do not take lightly.

Hello beautiful!

My Hubby
I married my best friend, Arthur Griffin, on June 2, 2018! He is a carpenter with a punny sense of humor who loves legos, ice cream, and camping. He designed & created my ring box!

My Daughter
Charlotte Natalee, our little girl, was a miracle and answer to many prayers. Although due on Christmas day, she surprised us and was born December 7, 2019! She is our joy & blessing!

I cry at every father-daughter dance. My dad & I danced to Beauty & the Beast.

My favorite dog breed is the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel...
I mean, who can resist those ears??

Lazy days curled up with hot tea
I'm in love with Downton Abbey, old TV shows, and all things Disney!

My happy place is on top of a mountain in the cool of Autumn watching the sunset with my hubby.

DIY Weddings
The personal touches are what makes each wedding beautiful & unique.

These are a few of my favorite things

The Purple Butterlfy

The color purple signifies the role Trisomy 18 and Alzheimer's has played in my life. My friends, family, and I were blessed by Natalee Van Landingham, the sister of my best friend, who lived with Trisomy 18 for 11 years, and Hiram Ballard, my grandpa, who passed away in 2015 from Alzheimer's. When choosing the logo for Simply Joyful Occasions, I decided to feature a butterfly, as this was Natalee's symbol. My "Pepe" and "Natster" were two of the most joyful people in my life, and they blessed so many with their hugs and smiles.
